John will sing ‘live’ today
Amitabh Bachchan, Mithun Chakraborty, Govinda, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan — all have at least one recorded movie song credited to them as a singer.
But [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] is going one step forward. As part of the music launch of his Dassera release, Jhootha Hi Sahi, the actor will sing ‘live’ at the Oberoi Mall in Goregan East this evening.
[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], who until now has been flexing his biceps, will now exercise his vocal cords too. But to ensure that he is in sync with the sur and taal of the songs, the performance will take place at a karaoke event. In fact, the production and music company will also launch a karaoke CD, along with the film’s soundtrack.
However, producer Madhu Mantena says that AR Rahman wasn’t too keen on the idea. “He felt that without the vocals, the music would be misused. He also pointed out that a karaoke CD usually comes out a couple of years after the film’s release. But the tunes are so good that we convinced Rahman,” says Mantena.
He does admit that the idea of the live performance at the karaoke event was [link widoczny dla zalogowanych]’s. And the actor has been rehearsing for this big evening 24x7. “I’m not much of a singer, but karaoke nights are a great way to unwind,” says [link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. “Hopefully, with all the practice,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I’ll not be an embarrassment this evening.”
