Opening Night
The conference concludes on Sunday, July 12, 2009. Three different workshops are scheduled for Sunday:

The U.S. Autism & Asperger Association’s 4th Annual International Conference will be held from July 9-12 [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], 2009 in Los Angeles, California. The conference will feature some of the most prominent names in the field of autism biomedical treatment and research as well as opportunities for parents and professionals to network and learn more about autism spectrum disorders.
Valerie Paradiz will also discuss her own diagnosis with Asperger Syndrome and the importance of self-advocacy.
The USAAA is holding a special registration offer. A free companion pass will be offered with every full conference registration. Additional Workshop Topics
One of the workshops available for conference attendees is a presentation by Valerie Paradiz, PhD. Paradiz will be discussing raising her son, Elijah, who is on the autism spectrum. Elijah was featured in an MTV special on autism spectrum disorders and has spoken at several autism conferences across the country.
Although the first full conference day won’t be until July 10, the conference kicks off with a variety of opening night celebrations on July 9. The Miracle Project co-founders, Elaine Hall and Diane Isaacs [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], will be on hand to discuss the musical theater program designed for children on the autism spectrum. In addition to Hall and Isaacs, several stars from the Emmy-award winning film, Autism:The Musical, will be on hand for a meet and greet.
The conference will feature three days of workshops. On Friday, workshops looking at the relationship between autism and epilepsy and a special workshop for first time conference attendees will be held.
Father and son team, Mark and David Geier, will be speaking at the annual conference on the topic “New Insights into the Treatment of Autism.” The Geiers will be discussing their controversial autism treatment, the Lupron Protocol. The duo has a patent pending on this alternative treatment option and parents and professionals are anxious to learn more.
