The soundtrack for Ishqiya is a master stroke from Vishal Bhardwaj [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], it shows the reason why his is considered to be one of the most talented composers in India. It was recently reported in the Indian Express website that Bhardwaj will next be seen collaborating with Mira Nair in the Musical Broadway version of her 2001 film Monsoon Wedding.
Track three Ab Mujhe Koi shares the same style of the first track Dil Tho Bachcha Hai. This time however the pattern of the beats come through at a even slower pace. The brushing sound of the acoustic guitar is played in unison with a beautiful melody from a piano and a haunting drum beat. This song may not be appreciated from the first listen as it doesn't contain a obvious melody but it will grow on the ears after a few listens and may end up being considered the best song on the album.
The first track of the album Dil Tho Bachcha Hai is the song being used to promote the film. The song contains a simple melody that is reminiscent of Hindi songs from the sixties. Bhardwaj combines the sounds from a guitar and a harmonium with Rahat Ali Khan's bucolic vocals. This combination gives a rustic feel to the track that lingers in the senses long after the song has finished. The album also contains a remix version of the track featuring Clinton Cerajo. Cerajo adds a insanely catchy tune that has the right qualities to take control of Mumbai's clubbing scene.
The final song Badi Deheeri Jali contains the most original sound to come out of a Bollywood soundtrack. It starts of with a slow pace creating a eerie sound from a Sarangi. Then it breaks into a full on rock song with the Sarangi still being played in the background. The vocals by Vishal Bhardwaj's wife Rekha mesh with the mood of the song perfectly creating a multilayered tune that is likely to haunt the listener for days.
Ishqiya is a forthcoming Bollywood crime thriller starring Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi. The soundtrack was released on 01 January 2010 and has already started to dominate the Indian charts.

The second track Ibn -E-Batuta [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], awakens the sixth sense with its captivating musical arrangements. Sukhwinder and Mika sing to fun filled lyrics by Gulzar with a animated delight. Gulzar's lyrics contain a witty wordplay that creates a dark humorous tone to the song. Bhardwaj's use of a unorthodox rhythm adds a freshness that most listeners will find charming. The album also contains two remixes of the song and they are tracks that will be kept permanently on MP3 players.
