One-year-old Aryan Ramachandran may be too young to know anything about spiderman costumes , but not so his older friends for whom the superhuman has been a much adored character ever since the Hollywood movie hit the theatres in Delhi. “These products are already on the shelves in toy stores,” says Sandeep Saxena, assistant manager (Sales), North Region, Mahindra Intertrade Ltd. “We had begun with 2,000 such soft toys, priced between Rs 70 and Rs 400.
These are mainly sourced from vendors in India and China and we have already sold 75 per cent of it to retailers.” Echoes Pawan Gupta, the spiderman movie 3 owner of R P Associates, a toy store in Lodhi Colony, Delhi, “The Bhoot toys are getting quite an encouraging response. But Hollywood characters such as superhero costumes for sale, Harry Potter, etc., sell the most. However, a motorcycle toy in Spandex zentai, which resembles Akshay Kumar on a bike chasing a car in Main Khiladi Tu Anari, is selling well even today.” Come August, Mahindra Intertrade will start merchandising toys and other products from the latest movie in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban,superhero costumes for sale, which is currently being shot in the Scottish Highlands.
