Detroit quarterback Matt Stafford's bad luck in Chicago continued in Week 1.
Stafford injured his knee in last year's loss to the Bears. On Sunday,NFL Jerseys, Stafford left late in the first half after taking a hit from Chicago's Julius Peppers. From the Detroit Free Press:
"Peppers sacked him hard and his right shoulder is hurt just before end of first half. He was on the sidelines with his pads off just before halftime."
Backup Shaun Hill replaced Stafford in the second half, and this doesn't look good. Remember, Stafford missed four games with a left shoulder injury. Stafford, who was 11-of-15 for 83 yards, was ruled out for the remainder of the game.
Stafford's injury -- if serious -- would have a negative impact on Calvin Johnson owners. Then again, Johnson didn't have a catch at the time of Stafford's injury. As for Stafford, we'll have updates at the Fantasy Source as soon as possible.
If Stafford does return next week, we'll find out soon if his shoulder will hold up. The Lions face the blitz-happy Eagles, and they'll follow up with trips to Minnesota and Green Bay. In other words, Trent Cole, Jared Allen Jersey and Clay Matthews. In other words, we told you this could happen.
If Stafford's injury is indeed serious, teams will load the box to stop Jahvid Best, who had two first-half TDs. In other words, Shaun Hill. In other words, let's hope this isn't serious.
Hope you weren't counting on Stafford as a QB1.
