Washington coach Steve Sarkisian tried to clarify his criticism of [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] by saying he thought his comments were off the record and would not be made public.
On Friday, Sarkisian was quoted as saying [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] "looks like an idiot" for returning the Heisman Trophy but not admitting any guilt over the NCAA findings that he received illegal benefits at USC.
The comments by Sarkisian, who coached [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] as an assistant at USC, came during an production meeting with ESPN one day before the Huskies game against Nebraska.
Sarkisian said after the Huskies fell to the Cornhuskers 56-21 that his point was: "if he did something wrong, give the Heisman back. If he didn't do something wrong, keep it." The coach said he has talked to [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] since the comments.
