Tampa Bay Buccaneers need to put pressure on
Carson Palmer Jersey
TAMPA — To date, the Bucs have faced a ragtag group of quarterbacks.
They've seen Cleveland's
Jake Delhomme
on one good leg, a battered
Matt Moore
and rookie
Jimmy Clausen
in Carolina, and nearly-over-the-hill veteran
Charlie Batch
against Pittsburgh.
On Sunday at Cincinnati, they won't catch any breaks with Bengals QB
Carson Palmer Jersey
under center.
"If you let him sit back there in the pocket, he'll pick you apart," Bucs coach
Raheem Morris
said. "You have to bring your best game. You have to bring your best stuff. He does a lot of things
Peyton Manning
-esque as far as getting to the line of scrimmage and changing plays. You have to be ready to deal and be ready to disguise (coverages) and have a plan."
Part of that plan had better include getting an increased pass rush, something that has been lacking at times this season.
Carson Palmer Jersey
threw for 371 yards in a loss against the Browns last week, finishing with a quarterback rating of 121.4.
"He's one of those guys you have to get to and bother," Morris said. "You have to get in his face, you have to cause hurries, you have to cause sacks,
MLB Jerseys
, you have to get pressure. You have to force him out of his comfort zone and get to him."
ROSTER DECISIONS:
The Bucs are likely to have some new players among their game-day actives, including FB/TE
Erik Lorig
, DE
Michael Bennett
and RB
Kareem Huggins
.
That will create some difficult decisions when it comes to who will be among the eight inactive players (only 45 players can be active on game day).
Some of the players in danger of being declared inactive include FB
Chris Pressley
and WR
Maurice Stovall
.
The decisions "are tough every week," Morris said. "That's the sign of the team getting better."
Morris said Lorig and Pressley will "continue to battle throughout the season" for a spot on the game-day active list.
STREAKY:
Assuming he starts Sunday, Ronde Barber will have 171 consecutive starts, tying Hall of Famer
Dick LeBeau
for the longest streak among cornerbacks. LeBeau started 171 straight games between 1959 and 1972 for the Lions.
