Post subject: the point of the New York Jets&rsquo
Ravens wary about Jets' Jenkins
As suffocating as cornerback Darrelle Revis can be and as infectious as linebacker
Bart Scott Jersey
can play, the point of the New York Jets’ defensive attack may reside in a certain 6-foot-4, 360-pound nose tackle.
Kris Jenkins, a 10-year veteran out of Maryland, takes up a lot of space and makes it difficult for opposing offensive linemen to move him out of running lanes and away from the pocket.
The task of keeping Jenkins on the periphery will fall largely on Ravens center Matt Birk,
NHL Jerseys
, who will likely get a little help from guards Ben Grubbs and Marshal Yanda.
Asked if Jenkins remind him of anyone he has faced in the past, Birk replied, “I don’t know. I’ve been hit in the head a lot. He’s a great player. A big, strong, explosive guy. Can single-handedly do damage. So it’ll be a big challenge for us inside.”
Birk was careful to avoid giving Jenkins any motivation for Monday's season opener. Asked if he’s had success against Jenkins in the past, Birk said, “I’m not saying that.”
