About National Dump the Pump Day
Save money and become energy independent
In these economic times with high gas prices, everyone is looking for a way to save money. National Dump the
Pump
Day encourages people to ride public transportation (instead of driving) and save money.
Riding public transit is the quickest way to beat high gas prices. The latest APTA Transit Savings Report shows that a two car household that downsizes to one car can save on the average more than $9,000 a year.
In addition, with the recent oil spill in the Gulf,
Fausfloor Laminate Flooring Wood & Ceramic Tile
, riding public transit will help you to reduce your oil consumption and increase your energy independence. In the U.S., public transportation use saves the equivalent of 900,000 automobile fill-ups every day.
