However, the function of auto switches is to control the on-off of different device circuits. The controlled device is different from general switches, and thus there are a variety of different control methods. Therefore auto switches are special when comparing to general switches. <br /> <br />Main features <br />1. With guaranteed high performance, not only with nice appearance, but also have to coordinate with the internal colour of the car, in order to give an attractive outlook. <br /> <br />2. Safety factors have to be considered for design. When the vehicle has an accident the switches must not harm passengers, and damages must kept at a minimum. For example, buttons are with rounded corners, handles are made short, and parts are installed inside the panels. Besides, fire safety of the car must be considered, so the materials of the switches must not be flammable. <br />3. The design of the shape of the auto switches must consider different factors such as installation location, control mode and control feelings, and must follow designs and arrangements according to ergonomics. <br />4. There are 6V (motorcycle), 12V (car), 24V (diesel) car voltage levels, in the 21st century vehicles with 42V voltage level might also appear. <br />5. Due to different objectives there are transient, short term and continuous operations. By different uses the load current can vary from 1mA to 1000A. <br />6. Reliability is considered, auto switches and other auto parts need to support forces and vibrations from different directions when the car is driven, which may lead to unexpected early damage or rivet loosening of switch parts. Also, adverse environmental changes in temperature and relative humidity during a drive will cause the switch contacts to oxidize rapidly, which results in shortened work life of the auto switches.</span></td> </tr> </table></td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2" height="1" class="spaceRow"><img src="http://picsrv.fora.pl/Boyz/images/spacer.gif" alt="" width="1" height="1" /></td> </tr> </table>
