Marc Savard Jersey faces Cooke, Pens for 1st time since hit
While the Boston Bruins should be most concerned about their inability to put distance between themselves and the Montreal Canadiens despite multiple chances,MLB Jerseys, Monday's game against the Penguins is also notable because of the return of Marc Savard Jersey to Pittsburgh.
Marc Savard Jersey was levelled with a hit to the head by Matt Cooke in a March 7 game in Pittsburgh and hasn't been back since. (You can't say it's a return to the 'scene of the crime' per se, as that game took place in the old Igloo).
Depending on your view, it led to a sea change in how the NHL perceives hits to the head, or it was a long overdue first step by the league, only because their hand was forced by a huge outcry from the press and fans. Regardless, it was definitely one of 2010's sports stories of the year.
For Marc Savard Jersey, one memorable playoff overtime goal belied the fact that he was back in form. Persistent headaches and depression ensued, and his season debut was delayed until Dec. 2.
As Marc Savard Jersey had endured an injury-plagued campaign even before the hit, it's reasonable to ask if the 33-year-old will ever be the same player again. He has two goals and four assists, with a minus-8 rating in 17 games. Just three months before the Cooke hit, he signed a seven-year extension that kicked in at the beginning of this season, making him an unlikely trade attraction for another team.
As for Cooke, he should be in the lineup Monday after missing a game last week due to personal leave. He returned for Pittsburgh's 4-0 loss to Minnesota on Saturday.
The Bruins and Pens play again later in the week in Boston.
