Certainly, the image is a vast improvement over Zemeckis' work in his previous film air max tn 10, Beowulf, a movie whose motion-capture didn't do justice to the actors' performances. Carrey as Scrooge looks less plastic and more lifelike than Beowulf's wax mannequins – especially around the eyes – which allows the actor's performance to come through more readily. Imagemovers Digital/Disney's version of A Christmas Carol comes out on November 6th. But the real burden of the film rests on Carrey, who will be compared to countless Scrooges before him: most notably Alastair Sim's brilliant portrayal in United Artists' 1951 Scrooge, widely considered to be the best adaptation of A Christmas Carol to date. The Princess Bride leads Robin Wright-Penn and Carey Elwes will reunite in the film, portraying two as-yet undisclosed roles. Fun Fact: IMDb lists 38 cinematic adaptations of A Christmas Carol. This doesn't include Frank Capra's It's a Wonderful Life which many consider a loose adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic. It also begs the question: why not simply slap some makeup on Mr. Carrey and do the rest of the flick in live-action plus CGI? Who Is In Imagemovers Digital/Disney's A Christmas Carol? This site's been talking about director/producer Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump, Beowulf) and his new motion-capture studio in partnership with the Walt Disney Company. This studio, called Imagemovers Digital, is starting its production run with an adaptation of Charles Dickens' evergreen (some would say overdone) story, A Christmas Carol. Zemeckis is writing and directing the flick. As mentioned before, Jim Carrey will not only portray Scrooge nike air max tn, but also the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come. Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight) is also pulling triple duty as Scrooge's put-upon employee Bob Cratchit, Marley (no, not the dog!) and Tiny Tim. Colin Firth (Bridget Jones' Diary) is taking on the role of Scrooge's estranged nephew Fred, while Bob Hoskins will voice Mr. Fezziwig. The first, by the Edison Manufacturing Company, was released in 1910 and featured Marc McDermott as Scrooge and Charles Ogle (best known for playing the Monster in the first ever Frankenstein film) as Cratchit. |
