v class="hft-lines">
I disappeared for a week.
It was intentional although I had wished to depart some signs of life while I was worked!
But life rushed me out the door, to the airfield and aboard a surprisingly full plane from Israel to Turkey. I travelled to combine the 4th International Women's Sailing Week, a phenomenal initiative of the Turkish conceived and sprint 'Women's Sailing School' which brings together Women from bring offthe world to commemorate the beauty of the region and the joy of sailing - women merely. Traditionally sailing is very a macho sport where women are constantly left alongside when the males take over the running of the boat. However, Neslihan Karayel (her surname is the Turkish for the 'north west wind' which happily we capable very a few times during the week as it fraught our sails and kept us engaged ashore embark!) has created a place where women can study to sail and qualify for skippers, a place where we tin celebrate the many faces of women's strength and empowerment . This week was witness to such superb display!
I had been warned by many that I was lunatic to offer to peregrination to Turkey during these violent times. I paid no heed to these omens, having attended the Women's Flotilla final year (isn't it extraordinary how so fast 'flotilla' has become a sordid word!). My 1st experience was to be welcomed by jolly Turkish travel companions on the flights and arriving in Marmaris, my yacht awaited me with the Turkish and Israeli Flags lifted side by side.
The week was simply amazing. I reconnected with life at sea (yeah, clues of my colorful elapse!), I reconnected with the simplicity of life without kids, partner and a hectic go schedule, I reconnected with wonderful friends and of course, with myself. I was romanced by the good edible, daylight, powerful winds, beautiful sea life and the company of wonderful women. What more can a girl ask for!
Every day began with yoga and a hike by which time it was so peppery that we swooped into the amazingly blue and explicit water to chilly down and pique our appetite for breakfast. After dining fruit, yogurt and muesli all butmetimes the fresh cake roasted by the local women and delivered by little boats that pulled up beside ours, we rested, tidied up the boat and set sail. Some days the sea was calm and we were forced to put down anchor at the most beautiful sheltered bays for swim and snorkel stops. Other days the winds were so strong that we had to wear saddles and life jackets. As we accustomed to say in Dublin,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the crack was mighty (that method we had such a large smile!) as only girls understand how, and we talked almost anything below the sun!
In the evenings we moored alternatively hooked in more of the wonderful sheltered bays that had uncomplicated restaurants,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], some with no road access, electricity or running water. We then celebrated the day with happy hour, good music and emulated at a lovely nightfall repast.
It is a recess that involves serious physical effort and I love namely. We had adequate opportunity to witness our own mighty selves navigating through rough waters. It was an awesome sight and a heart-warming experience. There are so many parallels apt our own life's cruise. You are stuck with folk that you may not normally prefer to be with in such near and confined space. You are faced with physical and mawkish challenges.
The sequel was wonderful. We all dragged together and the atmosphere on the boat was supportive, inspiring and caring. Each individual taught me so much. There was Denise, who never stops smiling, showed me how many a smile can change the world,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]! And Audrey taught me to stop sweating the small matter. Serra showed me how creature intensely feminine and smart can still be lusty and powerful. Feryal showed me how she stopped fearing her 6th sense and makes powerful affirmative use of her talents.; so many lessons, so many inspiration.
And I told stories,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]! Lots of stories!
Perhaps the maximum wonderful outcome of all was to comprehend that wo
