Why are the wait times so bad? Find out,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]!
If you tried to log into Aion over the last two days then you've become familiar with the joy of server queues. While queues are definitely not a new phenomenon, having been rampant in World of Warcraft and other MMOG launches,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], players were a little discouraged to see wait times of up to several hours on Sunday and Monday. Now with the official launch happening today for North America,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], fans are a little concerned that it might get worse before it gets better.
In an interview posted today,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Brian Knox address the queues and shares a bit about what they are doing to get it under control.
We had to keep max server capacity low at first because everyone was crammed at the starting area. Had we opened it up to everyone,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], no one could have progressed. As the day went on, we opened up Aion kinah the servers more and more. We want to ensure that our servers are healthy during Head Start, Aion kinah but also once a retail code is applied. These next few days we will be calculating data and weighing the ideal time to open more servers. I think that the community will understand that in a game with PvPvE how important a healthy populated server is and that we do not want to go down the low pop server path...
It certainly Aion kinah is a fine line to walk,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]! You can catch the full interview here, and please let us know what you think. Are queue times too painful to deal with or does knowing that server population health will be optimal make it all worthwhile?
